HOWTO log in and add pictures to the gallery!

transpixel Well, they say that a picture is worth a thousand words.  Well, we're gonna load up a lot of words.First, let's find the login link in the upper right-hand corner of the screen and click on it. transpixel

transpixel A window will pop up that looks like this.  Put in your username and password (the black dots will appear instead of your password--it's a security feature, don't try to type black dots).When you're done, click the Login button. transpixel

transpixel Now, where the login link used to be, there are more commands.  Find the add photos link and click on that.
If you don't see the add photos link, make sure you're looking at the It's Fanart! page. transpixel

transpixel Another window will pop up.  This is the window where you can upload your photos.  Since most people want to upload a photo from their own computer let's do that.Click  on  one  of  the  Browse  buttons.    A window will pop up that allows you to browse through your local computer.  FInd the file you want to upload and select it.  The browse window will go away, and you'll see your file's filename in the box next to the browse button.  You can use thge other browse buttons to load more files.When you're done browsing, hit the Upload Now button. transpixel

transpixel However, you want to put a spiffy caption on it and crop the thumbnail.Click on the <<Edit Photo>> menu.  Voila!  A menu with all sorts of cool things appears.  First let's fix up the caption. transpixel

transpixel This can get a little tricky.  First, be very patient while wating for the Java applet to load.  Once you see the picture, you can start to think about what the shape of your thumbnail should be.  Pick one of the aspect ratios from the leftmost pulldown, and then decide if you want portrait or landsape.
Once you've gotten the shape, you can size the marquis (the cyan box) by dragging around the lower right-hand corner (as shown in the picture).  If you want to move the marquis without resizing it, just click and drag in the center of the marquis.When you're done, find the OK button and click it (this screenshot is proof that IE for MacOS X isn't quite ready for prime time). transpixel
