Here is what a script for "The X-Files" boils down to:

(The scene of a grisly murder.)

SKINNER: Stay out of this, Mulder! the FBI can handle it!

MULDER: OK, Skully, let's investage the room so I can make a profound
        discovery that points to something ancient and mysteroius.

SKULLY: But Skinner said...

MULDER: This man may be dead, we may have a videotape of him being shot
        and a written confession from the killer, but I believe this is 
        the work of aliens!

SKINNER: I'm cutting you off Mulder!!!! you're on your own!!!!!!!!!!

(A scene of a messy room, strewn with TV's definition of stuff a geek
should have, including a stand up, cardboard Mr. Spock.)

GEEK1: As is requirend in each episode, here is the refrence to the chip 
       in Skully's neck.

GEEK2: It's really tiny.

GEEK3: (picks his nose.)

(A dark house.  MULDER kicks open the door and bursts in with his gun ready)

MULDER: Well, there's the required breaking down a door shot!

(FBI headquaters, MULDER'S office)

SKULLY: Well, Mulder, we have proof now that this was a simple murder.

MULDER: It was a government coverup!!! I'm more certain than ever that the
        Truth is out there!!!!!!
