Subject: WARNING: attempt at seriousness... Date: Wed, 27 Nov 1996 10:23:13 -0500 Well, we just had our first snowfall around here this week, and last night I was watching it fall as I was driving to and from my parents' place. Which made me think of this poem I wrote back in 1989... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Snow ---- Snow. It falls from the sky peacefully, serenely, gently blanketing the world. A blanket that is cold, and warm: cold to the touch but warm to the eyes and the heart. Snow. When I see snow I think of many things: small children playing, building snowmen. People bustling, going about their business. Lovers walking, hand in hand, through the woods, to a place they can be alone to enjoy the warmth of their love in the cold of the snow. Snow. It falls from the sky like manna from Heaven. Nourishing not our bodies but our souls. Feeding us love to carry us through until Spring. -packy January, 1989
