Subject: More Apologies

Dennis D'Asaro is PISSED.
The apology that headed yesterday's joke is copied WORD FOR WORD from an
e-mail apology sent by joke columnist Dick Snorbee (Chicago E-Trib) to
Elaine May on September 7th, 1998. I suppose you will claim that you didn't
know that, or that you read it contemporarily and recalled it unconsciously,
or that there was a psychic connection between you and Mr. Snorbee. I
DEMAND that you instantly send acknowledgements and restitution to
Mr. Snorbee, Ms. May, the Editorial Board of the E-Trib, Mayor Daley, and
Mrs. Mary Ellen Lawler (my mother-in-law, who lives in Illinois, and may
have been offended if she happened to receive your e-mail, to have read
Mr. Snorbee's original column and attribution, to be a fan of Ms. May, and
to have remembered all of these and to have made the connections among them!
If you do not instantly comply, I shall have no recourse but to contact my
lawyer and have him send you a bad pun!
