Joke of the Day

Post Office Humor

There haven't been too many famous quotes associated with the post office. The most famous is the one chiseled in stone above the entrance to the main post office in New York City: "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."

Most people don't realize that the quote is 2,000 years old. It comes from the Greek writer Herodotus, who mailed it in, intending it for the entrance of the post office in ancient Athens. But you know how the mail is . . .

I Need A Raise

"I have to have a raise," the man said to his boss. "There are three other companies after me."

"Is that so?" asked the manager. "What other companies are after you?"

"The electric company, the telephone company, and the gas company."
