Bob Brunner was placing a classified ad when he overheard this...

A woman went into the local newspaper office to see that the obituary for her recently deceased husband would be published. The obit editor informed her that there would be a charge of 50 cents per word. She paused, reflected, and then said, "Well, then, let it read 'Fred Brown died.'"

Amused at the woman's thrift, the editor told her that there was a seven word minimum for all obituaries.

She thought it over and in a few seconds said, "In that case, let it read, 'Fred Brown died: golf clubs for sale.'"
